Hyundai Motor delivered 2,892 of its own common shares to executives on July 31 at ₩388,000 each, ₩1.12bn in total, transferred straight from the company's account into the recipients' personal brokerage accounts. The July 23 material-event report had said 2,747 shares. This result report marks the two as inconsistent and states the reason: the planned figure was calculated on the closing price the day before the board resolution, while the actual number was fixed using the share price on the delivery date. The award is denominated in won, so a lower price on delivery day meant more shares changed hands. After the disposal Hyundai held 2,338,808 common treasury shares (1.1%) and 1,214,332 preferred (2.0%), together 1.3% of the company and carried at ₩761.2bn. That preferred block is exactly the one the board voted on August 26 to cancel.
