HANWHA AEROSPACE CO., LTD. (012450) and Korea Electric Power Corporation (015760) joined an Army microgrid project, Newsis reported Tuesday. The system will switch to independent operation within 0.1 seconds during an outage.
The Korea Energy Agency held the groundbreaking ceremony at the Army training command in Jangseong. The agency will spend ₩20 billion to connect solar panels, diesel generators and energy storage by year-end.
The project follows a February agreement between the agency and the Army. Testing will continue for five years after construction. The company's market capitalisation was ₩53 trillion at Tuesday's close.
