Korean Air Pilots Seek Mediation Over Merger Seniority - report

Korean Air Lines Co., Ltd. (003490) pilots requested labor mediation after contract talks stalled, Dailian reported Tuesday. Seniority after the Asiana Airlines (020560) integration remains the main dispute.

The union filed with the Seoul Regional Labor Relations Commission on Monday. Talks cover the 2024 collective agreement and the 2025 wage agreement. The union had not sought formal mediation for eleven years.

The report said the sides narrowed differences on wages and rest rules. They have not agreed how pilots from the two airlines will be ranked for promotion. The company's market capitalisation was ₩11.1 trillion at Tuesday's close.
