HD Hyundai Expands Ship Technology Work To Nuclear Propulsion - report

HD Hyundai Co., Ltd. (267250) is extending ship technology work beyond methanol and ammonia propulsion, Dailian reported Monday. Its projects also cover hydrogen, electric and small modular reactor systems.

Chairman Chung Ki-sun attended the naming of two ammonia-fueled medium gas carriers in Ulsan on August 25. The vessels are named Adin Kercer and Alter. Belgian shipping company Exmar ordered four ammonia-fueled ships, including the two named vessels.

The newly named ships are the third and fourth units in Exmar's order. The report also listed hydrogen, electric and nuclear-powered vessel development. The company's market capitalisation was ₩19.5 trillion at Tuesday's close.
