GS Engineering & Construction Corp. (006360) signed a modular datacenter development agreement on September 4, Newsis reported Sunday. LG Uplus (032640) joined the agreement at its Pyeongchon Mega Center in Anyang.
The other partners are Xi C&A, Gansam Architects and D&O CM. Their model uses factory-built structures and power and cooling equipment that workers assemble and install at the datacenter site.
GS Engineering & Construction Corp. will review construction methods while LG Uplus will specify technical requirements for datacenter operations. The company's market capitalisation was ₩2.9 trillion at Friday's close.
