SK Telecom Co., Ltd. Details Datacenter Business Split and Funding - Yonhap

SK Telecom Co., Ltd. (017670) is separating datacenter operations into SK Horizon through a split of SK Broadband. Yonhap reported Sunday that the company announced the restructuring on August 27 alongside external investment.

KKR and an IMM Investment consortium will hold 29% and 20% of SK Horizon after completing their investment. SK Telecom Co., Ltd. will retain 51%, while the new business handles datacenters and submarine cable operations.

The transaction includes ₩1.2 trillion of newly issued shares for infrastructure expansion. The company's market capitalisation was ₩19.9 trillion at Friday's close.
