KT Corporation (030200) operated a dedicated 5G network for safety monitoring at Saturday's Seoul fireworks festival. Yonhap reported Sunday that the company connected 25 wireless cameras around Yeouido and Ichon Han River parks.
The cameras transmitted video to the event's control room while network slicing separated safety traffic from ordinary mobile traffic. KT Corporation also supplied safety staff with ten emergency communication devices for crowd movement and incident response.
The service used the company's commercial standalone 5G network during the event. The company's market capitalisation was ₩13.7 trillion at Friday's close.
