E-mart Co., Ltd. (139480) subsidiary Emart24 reported higher sales near Seoul's fireworks festival on Saturday, Yonhap reported Sunday. Sales at nearby Yeouido stores were about ten times the level recorded on the same weekday a week earlier.
Beer sales reached about 35 times the previous week's level while wet-wipe sales reached 48 times that level. The retailer set up two tents outside its Hangang Paradise store and added 12 iceboxes for a temporary shop.
The temporary operation also included six instant-noodle cooking machines for customers attending the outdoor fireworks event. The company's market capitalisation was ₩2 trillion at Friday's close.
