GS Retail (007070) reported record daily sales for the year at seven GS25 stores near Seoul's fireworks festival. Yonhap reported Sunday that sales at one store reached 6.7 times the previous week's level.
The reviewed locations were in Yeouido and Ichon, where spectators gathered for Saturday's event along the Han River. Prepared food sales reached 192 times the previous week's level, while sports drink sales reached 38 times that level.
The stores also recorded higher sales during Friday's festival eve. The company's market capitalisation was ₩2.1 trillion at Friday's close.
