Korean Committee Approves Ten Year Extension of Financial Contributions - Yonhap

A Korean parliamentary committee approved extending financial companies' policy finance contributions through October 8, 2036, Yonhap reported Sunday. The National Policy Committee passed the amendment on September 3 ahead of the existing October 8 expiry.

Financial companies currently contribute to the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency under a provision with a fixed expiry date. The committee adopted a ten-year extension while leaving the separate proposal for a permanent fund under further discussion.

The amendment still requires passage by the full National Assembly. Shinhan Financial Group Co., Ltd. (055550): The company's market capitalisation was ₩51.8 trillion at Friday's close.
