E-mart Co., Ltd. (139480) affiliate Starbucks recorded ₩116.12 billion in estimated August credit and debit card payments. Yonhap reported Friday that Mobile Index's estimate rose 5.5% from July, marking a second consecutive monthly increase.
The estimate remained 15.9% below the same month last year despite the recent monthly gains. Starbucks resumed new products and customer benefits in July after suspending launches and promotions following a May controversy.
The estimate excludes payment methods such as Starbucks prepaid cards and mobile gift certificates. The company's market capitalisation was ₩2 trillion at Friday's close.
