Global Food Price Index Rises for Second Consecutive Month - Yonhap

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization reported an August food price index of 133.3 on Friday. Yonhap reported Saturday that the index rose 1.9% from July's revised reading of 130.8.

All five commodity groups increased, including an 11.9% rise for sugar and a 2.2% rise for cereals. The overall index stood 2.5% above August last year and reached its highest level since November 2022.

The index uses average prices from 2014 through 2016 as its base. CJ Corp. (001040): The company's market capitalisation was ₩3.8 trillion at Friday's close.
