Korea Exempts Midrate Loan Growth From Household Lending Caps - report

Korea's financial regulator fully exempted new private midrate loan growth from household lending caps starting this month. Dailian reported Friday that the measure covers mutual finance institutions, savings banks and specialized credit finance companies.

Mutual finance lenders previously excluded 70% of such loan growth when calculating compliance with household lending limits. The regulator raised that exclusion to 100% as part of measures covering loans to borrowers with weaker credit.

The rule concerns net increases in qualifying loans at each financial company. Shinhan Financial Group Co., Ltd. (055550): The company's market capitalisation was ₩51.8 trillion at Friday's close.
