Korea Electric Power Corporation (015760) subsidiary Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power manually stopped Saeul reactor 3 on Sunday. Yonhap reported that the shutdown occurred at 3:01 p.m. after staff identified a condensate drainage pipe leak.
The operator said the plant remained stable and the shutdown caused no radiation impact on the surrounding area. The reactor had resumed commissioning tests two days earlier after regulators investigated an August automatic shutdown.
The operator is investigating the cause of the leak at the 1.4 million kW reactor. The company's market capitalisation was ₩20.6 trillion at Friday's close.
