KT Corporation (030200) and Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (004170) are discussing AI data center investments with Gangwon Province, Yonhap reported Monday. Governor Woo Sang-ho described the separate discussions at a press conference and said neither investment had been finalized.
The province is discussing a Wonju data center with the telecommunications company and a Chuncheon water-energy cluster investment with the retailer. Woo said officials would provide updates when the discussions produced further developments.
The governor said the province would prioritize projects linking domestic companies with overseas technology businesses. The company's market capitalisation was ₩13.8 trillion at Monday's close.
