Kakao Corp. (035720) subsidiary Kakao Mobility reported 82.5% vehicle utilization for its autonomous driving service, Yonhap reported Monday. The company released the operating figures at a Seoul mobility conference held on September 7.
It said 97% of users accessed the Gangnam late-night service through Kakao T without installing a separate app. Kakao Mobility also said it has directly operated autonomous vehicles and developed its own high-definition maps.
Chief executive Ryu Geung-seon discussed the company's operating experience during a keynote address at the conference. The company's market capitalisation was ₩16.2 trillion at Monday's close.
