Police Search Hanjin KAL Over Treasury Share Welfare Fund Donation - Yonhap

Police searched Hanjin KAL (180640) over alleged breach of trust involving a treasury share donation, Yonhap reported Monday. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's financial crime investigators recently carried out the search, according to the September 7 report.

A civic group filed a complaint in May last year concerning 440,044 shares donated to an employee welfare fund. The complaint alleged that the donation served to defend management control during a contest involving the company's shareholders.

Hanjin KAL disclosed the donation as 0.66% of its shares at the time. The company's market capitalisation was ₩9.9 trillion at Monday's close.
