Korea's Fair Trade Commission proposed higher penalties for repeated corporate disclosure violations, Dailian reported September 7. The proposal covers business group disclosures and large internal transactions, with public consultation running from September 8 through 28.
One prior violation over five years would trigger a 10% surcharge, rising to 50% for three or more. The proposal also removes existing reductions for late disclosures and certain first-time violations under the current penalty rules.
