Korean Low-PBR Disclosure Proposal Uses Three Years of Valuation Data - report

Korean regulators plan to use three years of data to identify low-PBR companies, Korea Economic Daily reported Monday. The Financial Services Commission is scheduled to consider the proposed detailed guidelines at its September 9 meeting.

The proposed thresholds cover the bottom 25% of KOSPI companies and the bottom 10% of KOSDAQ companies by relevant comparisons. Companies publishing value improvement plans by October 22 could receive a one-year exclusion, subject to exceptions.

The first public list is scheduled for November 2. Mirae Asset Securities Co., Ltd. (006800): The company's market capitalisation was ₩18.8 trillion at Monday's close.

One Korean filing a day, in English.

kstock reads DART every morning and writes up what moved — the contract, the buyback, the number that does not add up. The daily post and a Saturday roundup, by email.
