Samsung Opens Probe Into Housing Allowance Claims - report

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (005930) began reviewing housing allowance claims by semiconductor employees. Dailian reported the internal investigation on Tuesday.

More than 100 employees were reportedly included in the review. The allegations concern lease contracts that may not match actual residence conditions. Samsung's Device Solutions division offers qualifying workers at its Pyeongtaek site up to ₩700,000 per month for housing. The company began checking the reported claims after the allegations circulated online.

The review concerns employees who received the allowance. The company's market capitalisation was ₩1,575.6 trillion at Wednesday's close.
