Samsung Union Plans Vote on Semiconductor-Focused Membership - report

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (005930)'s largest union will vote on a membership change next month. Dailian reported the planned October 6 meeting on Wednesday.

The proposal would limit eligibility to workers in Samsung's Device Solutions semiconductor division. Members will also vote on three bargaining items. Those include a companywide profit-sharing demand and the proposed change in union eligibility. The union announced the agenda in a notice to members.

The vote follows differences among Samsung unions over bonus funding. The meeting is a general membership meeting. The company's market capitalisation was ₩1,575.6 trillion at Wednesday's close.
