GS Retail Starts Selling Eggs With Shell Quality Grades - report

GS Retail (007070) will start selling eggs with quality grades printed on their shells Thursday. Newsis reported the nationwide rollout on Wednesday.

The products will be available at GS The Fresh stores. The Livestock Products Quality Evaluation Institute worked with producer Geumgang AF and GS Retail on the change. Shell markings will show grades of 1+, 1 or 2. The grading system evaluates freshness and shell condition for participating producers.

The institute changed relevant standards in January before the rollout. The company's market capitalisation was ₩2.1 trillion at Wednesday's close.
