HANWHA AEROSPACE CO., LTD. (012450) and Korea Electric Power Corporation (015760) joined an Army microgrid project. Dailian reported the groundbreaking on Tuesday.
The project has a total budget of ₩20 billion. It will install fixed and mobile equipment at the Sangmudae military base by year-end. The system includes 3,015 kilowatts of solar capacity and 9.76 megawatt-hours of energy storage. A five-year demonstration will follow construction.
The Korea Energy Agency and Army held the ceremony in Jangseong on Monday. Construction is due this year. Hanwha Aerospace's market capitalisation was ₩54 trillion at Wednesday's close.
