The Financial Supervisory Service scheduled a September 15 sanctions hearing on Homeplus-linked securities sales. Dailian reported Hyundai Motor Securities (001500) among the firms involved on Tuesday.
The review concerns possible mis-selling of asset-backed short-term bonds tied to Homeplus card receivables. Shinyoung Securities arranged and sold the instruments. Hana Securities and Hyundai Motor Securities were also named among sellers. The hearing follows Homeplus's restructuring proceedings.
The instruments were issued through special-purpose companies using card receivables as underlying assets. The hearing is next Tuesday. The company's market capitalisation was ₩0.5 trillion at Wednesday's close.
