Korea Aerospace Industries, Ltd. Union Opposes Hanwha Takeover - report

Korea Aerospace Industries, Ltd. (047810) workers formally opposed a potential Hanwha group takeover in a statement, Dailian reported Monday. The union challenged arguments that combining aircraft manufacturing with the group's engine business would improve export competitiveness.

It said aircraft manufacturers should remain free to choose equipment suppliers according to customer requirements. The statement also criticized the government's potential reliance on a single defense group across multiple weapons categories.

The union called for the company to retain independent cooperation with domestic and overseas businesses. The company's market capitalisation was ₩12.6 trillion at Monday's close.
