Hanwha Aerospace (012450) confirmed in a Monday filing that it signed an execution contract on August 28 to supply K9 self-propelled howitzers and related equipment to Spain, naming Spanish defense contractor Indra Sistemas S.A. as the counterparty.
The filing withheld the contract value and end date, citing commercial confidentiality, with a re-disclosure deadline of November 28. It specified a 20% down payment on signing and a further 5% due by December 31, 2026.
The disclosure formally confirms three earlier "unconfirmed" statements Hanwha Aerospace issued in March, April and July 2026 in response to Spanish press reports about the deal, replacing those denials with a signed contract for the first time.
With the price undisclosed, the filing left blank the field measuring the deal against revenue; Hanwha Aerospace's FY2025 revenue was ₩26.70tn, the base the company will use once the amount is reported.
Poland remains Hanwha Aerospace's largest defense export customer; Spain would be a rare NATO customer further west. Hanwha Aerospace shares closed Monday at ₩1,102,000, down from a 52-week high of ₩1,537,000.
