Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Gains HBM Revenue Share in Q2 - Newsis

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (005930) held 33% of global high bandwidth memory (HBM) revenue in the second quarter, Newsis reported Thursday. The report cited Counterpoint Research data showing its share rose from 21% during the previous quarter this year.

SK hynix Inc. (000660) remained the largest supplier with a 50% share, down from 58% in the first quarter. Counterpoint reported that Micron held an 18% share in the second quarter compared with 21% in the previous quarter.

The research firm said fifth generation HBM3E products still generated most of the manufacturers' revenue from HBM. The company's market capitalisation was ₩1,493.7 trillion at Friday's close.
