Korea Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. (071050) unit chief Kim Sung-hwan was elected vice chairman of Korea's securities industry association Friday. The Korea Financial Investment Association announced the appointment after an extraordinary general meeting, Yonhap reported that afternoon.
Kim's part-time role runs for two years from September 5 through September 4, 2028, according to the association. He previously led the investment banking group and individual client group at Korea Investment & Securities before becoming chief executive.
Kim holds an economics degree from Korea University and completed doctoral coursework at Konkuk University's graduate school of real estate. The company's market capitalisation was ₩10.5 trillion at Friday's close.
