Korea Exchange Proposes Evening Trading Halts for Serious Corporate Events - Yonhap

Korea Exchange proposed trading halts for serious corporate news during evening sessions, Yonhap reported Friday after Thursday's draft rule notice. The exchange plans to open its new after-market session from 4pm to 8pm on September 14.

The draft allows halts after disclosure operations end at 6pm if reports reveal events including default or embezzlement. Nextrade said its evening market would apply the same measures once the exchange's proposed changes become final.

The proposal covers listed shares such as Mirae Asset Securities Co., Ltd. (006800) during evening trading. The company's market capitalisation was ₩18.7 trillion at Friday's close.
