HPSP (403870) said Monday its board called an extraordinary shareholder meeting for October 22 to elect chief executive Kim Jae-hyun as an inside director and to amend the company's articles of incorporation, according to a regulatory filing.
Kim, currently HPSP's president and CEO, has not previously held a board seat at the company. His proposed term would run two years and five months, and the filing lists his prior roles at Hanwha Semitech, Wonik IPS, Applied Materials Korea, Samsung Electronics and Lam Research.
The meeting's voting record date is September 15, and the filing notes that both agenda items — the director election and the articles amendment — can still be added to or changed before the formal notice goes out.
HPSP's board currently seats two outside directors, both of whom attended Monday's meeting. The company's market capitalization has fallen to ₩4.13tn as the shares dropped from a 52-week high of ₩83,500 to Monday's ₩50,200 close.
The meeting will be held at HPSP's headquarters in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.
