Yuhan signs $95m API supply deal with unnamed global drugmaker

Yuhan Corporation (000100) said in a filing Tuesday that it signed a contract to supply active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) to a buyer it identifies only as "a global pharmaceutical company," worth KRW 131.07bn (~$95.4m at the day's exchange rate).

The contract runs from September 1, 2026 to May 31, 2028, carries no advance or down payment, and lists the delivery region as undetermined. Yuhan withheld the counterparty's name under a Korean disclosure-hold provision, invoked at the buyer's request and justified as protecting business confidentiality; the filing sets the release date as the contract's own end date.

Yuhan's best-known pharmaceutical partnership to date is its licensing deal with Johnson & Johnson for the lung-cancer drug lazertinib, which pays Yuhan royalties on US sales. This new API contract involves a different, unnamed customer and a different kind of product — a bulk ingredient sale rather than a licensed therapy.

The KRW 131.07bn contract equals about 2.2% of Yuhan's current KRW 6.09tn market capitalization, and 6% of its FY2025 consolidated revenue of KRW 2.19tn, a ratio the company stated directly in the filing.

Yuhan (000100) gave no guidance on how the contract will affect near-term earnings, and did not disclose what drug the API is intended to support.

The disclosure hold on the buyer's identity is due to lift on May 31, 2028 — the same day the contract itself ends.
