Samsung C&T is partnering with US design firm SMDP to bid for Seoul's Mokdong apartment rebuild project. The project covers a 178,919-square-meter site in Songpa district.
The plan calls for a 49-story, 3,852-unit complex. It would add 1,570 new homes to the existing 2,280 units. Seoul rebuild projects are typically competitive with multiple builders bidding.
Samsung C&T secured the design partnership to make its proposal stand out and improve its chances of winning. Samsung C&T is a unit of Samsung Group. The company operates residential, commercial and infrastructure projects across Korea and overseas.
