Hyundai Motor restarts all Korea plants after strike ends

Hyundai Motor has restarted production at its Ulsan plant and all Korean factories following a labor dispute settlement. The stoppage lasted about eight weeks and affected operations accounting for 42% of total revenue.

The union and management reached a deal on August 25 with pay increases, performance bonuses and a commitment to hire 500 technical workers. Production restart lets Hyundai begin making up August sales losses, when home deliveries fell 41% year-over-year due to the strike.

Hyundai Motor reported FY2025 revenue of ₩186.3 trillion. The company runs operations in Korea, US, Mexico, Europe, India and Brazil.
