S-Oil develops AI data center cooling technology

S-Oil partnered with server maker KTNF and cooling specialist GST to develop liquid immersion cooling for AI data centers. Liquid immersion cooling submerges computer server parts directly in coolant fluid instead of using air, reported Dailian.

This cooling method cuts power use and heat management costs compared to traditional air cooling systems. S-Oil provides chemical coolant formulas. KTNF integrates the systems into server designs. GST contributes cooling equipment expertise. The partnership solves the rising power and heat problems that data centers face as they expand.

S-Oil is a petroleum refiner and fuel producer that is moving into specialty chemicals. The company sells high-margin specialty chemicals to semiconductor and data center makers who need advanced materials.
