Shinhan Card launches Korean Air credit card with mileage, point integration

Shinhan Card has launched "The CLASSIC Air" co-branded credit card with Korean Air, allowing cardholders to accumulate both airline mileage and Shinhan points on purchases, according to Yonhap on September 3.

The dual rewards structure targets Korean Air frequent flyers and Shinhan credit customers seeking travel benefits. The card integrates with both companies' existing loyalty programmes, creating switching costs that boost retention. Co-branded airline credit cards are standard products globally, with issuers and carriers sharing revenue from card-generated transactions and fee income.

Shinhan Card is a credit card issuer and subsidiary of Shinhan Financial Group.
