Samsung Heavy Raises Samsung Electronics Fab Contract Value 51%

Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (010140) raised the value of a construction contract with affiliate Samsung Electronics to ₩639.9bn (~$457.0m) from ₩423.7bn, a filing dated August 31 said, an increase of ₩216.1bn, or 51%.

The contract covers finishing work on the FAB building for Phase 2 of Samsung Electronics' P4 fab in Hadong, part of the Pyeongtaek chip campus. The filing describes this as the first amendment to a contract originally signed 13 December 2023, running from 15 July 2023 to 31 December 2027, billed as construction proceeds.

The original ₩423.7bn contract, filed 16 March 2026, represented 7.1% of the FY2022 revenue base Samsung Heavy uses for this disclosure; the revised amount is 10.8%, which is what triggered Monday's filing.

The revised contract equals 3.5% of Samsung Heavy Industries' ₩18.4tn market capitalization.

The filing states the contract amount and schedule may still change and that Samsung Heavy will re-disclose if they do.

The disclosed amount includes value-added tax, per the filing.
