Samsung Electro-Mechanics (009150) said Monday it signed a supply contract for MLCCs (multilayer ceramic capacitors) worth KRW 1,072.2bn (about $778.9m), the third sealed-counterparty MLCC contract it has disclosed since June.
The contract runs for the whole of calendar 2027, January 1 through December 31, and the buyer's identity is withheld: the filing names it only as "a large global company" and cites business confidentiality for the disclosure hold, which is set to lift the business day after the contract ends. No advance payment is included.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics disclosed two smaller MLCC contracts in June and July, worth a combined KRW 749.1bn, that ran on the identical calendar-2027 window with identically sealed counterparties. An analysis of those two contracts had flagged the matching terms and asked whether a third would land before year-end.
The new contract alone equals 9.5% of Samsung Electro-Mechanics' FY2025 consolidated revenue of KRW 11.31tn, a ratio the company stated directly. Combined, the three sealed 2027 contracts now total roughly KRW 1.82tn, about 16% of that same FY2025 revenue base.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics (009150) has not said, in this or the two earlier filings, whether the three contracts share a single customer.
The disclosure hold on this contract is due to lift the first business day of 2028.
