Samsung Heavy Industries is moving and expanding its Busan research facility with ₩86 billion ($62 million) to boost marine engineering and ship design. The company will move to a 1,700-square-meter space in Busan's Munhyeon Finance District.
The expansion follows recent LNG carrier wins and floating production vessel orders. Samsung Heavy needs more research capacity as global shipping shifts to liquefied natural gas and offshore energy. The company reported FY2025 revenue of ₩28.4 trillion.
