Kakao Corp. (035720) and its consortium won selection for South Korea's AI for Everyone service project, Dailian reported Friday. The science ministry and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency are running the project to provide public and private services.
LG Uplus (032640) will provide telephone access while LG ELECTRONICS INC. (066570) will connect services through home appliances. LG CNS Co., Ltd. (064400) will support public-sector data and system connections for the consortium's services.
KakaoTalk will provide messaging access to services including employment support and government services through channels that people already use. The company's market capitalisation was ₩16 trillion at Friday's close.
